SMS Consent & Information

This page explains how CompTeamHub collects consent for SMS notifications, what messages are sent, and how to opt out.

What is CompTeamHub?

CompTeamHub is a competition team management platform for dance studios. Studio owners use CompTeamHub to manage their competition teams, routines, events, costumes, billing, and private lessons. Parents of dancers access a “Parent Portal” within the platform to view their child’s team information, pay fees, and receive important notifications about their dancer’s activities.

What SMS Messages Are Sent?

CompTeamHub sends transactional SMS notifications only. These are time-sensitive messages related to a user’s account activity — not marketing or promotional messages. Examples include:

  • Private lesson reminders: “Reminder: Emma has a Private Ballet lesson tomorrow at 3:00 PM with Ms. Sarah in Studio A. Contact your studio to reschedule. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.”
  • Booking confirmations: Notification when a private lesson is booked or confirmed.
  • Cancellation notices: “Your private lesson scheduled for May 15 at 4:00 PM has been cancelled by the studio. Please contact your studio for rescheduling options. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.”
  • Schedule changes: Notification when a lesson time or instructor changes.

Message frequency varies based on lesson activity. Typically 1–5 messages per week during active studio seasons. Msg & data rates may apply.

How SMS Consent Is Collected

SMS consent is collected through a clear, affirmative opt-in process:

Step 1: Account Creation

Parents create an account on CompTeamHub at compteamhub.com/signup. During registration, they provide their name, email, and password. By creating an account, users agree to the Terms of Service, which include explicit SMS consent disclosures under Section 4: “SMS Messaging Terms.”

Step 2: Phone Number Provided

After account creation, the parent’s phone number is added to their profile — either by the parent themselves or by the studio owner when setting up the family’s account. SMS notifications are only sent to users who have a phone number on file.

Step 3: Confirmation Message

When a user first receives an SMS from CompTeamHub, the message includes opt-out instructions. Users can reply STOP at any time to immediately unsubscribe from all SMS messages.

SMS Consent Language

The following consent disclosures are included in our Terms of Service (Section 4: SMS Messaging Terms):

“By providing your mobile phone number and using the Service, you consent to receiving transactional SMS/text messages from CompTeamHub related to your account activity, including but not limited to: private lesson reminders, booking confirmations, cancellation notices, and schedule changes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.”

How to Opt Out

Users can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:

  • Reply STOP — Text STOP to any message from CompTeamHub to immediately unsubscribe.
  • Reply CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL, or OPTOUT — Any of these keywords will also unsubscribe you.
  • Contact us — Email hello@compteamhub.com to request removal.

After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message: “You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.”

Mobile Information & Data Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Mobile information and messaging consent will not be sold, shared, or disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. We only use your phone number to send the transactional notifications described on this page. See our Privacy Policy (Section 4) for full details on how we handle your data.
